La obra de Peri Helio está marcada por el respeto a la naturaleza, la geometría, la pasión por la astronomía y  una profunda crítica de la condición humana, aspectos que se evidencian a lo largo de toda su trayectoria artística.

En METAMITOLOGÍAS, Peri nos transporta a mundos alegóricos envueltos en atmosferas oníricas en los que la pérdida de humanidad del ser humano se pone de manifiesto a través de una serie de metáforas y elementos simbólicos con los que reclama la toma de conciencia de la sociedad ante el progresivo deterioro de sí misma y de su entorno natural. En palabras del propio artista:

 << En su búsqueda del “progreso”, la humanidad ha ido cortando progresivamente sus nexos con la naturaleza, modificando su entorno, al tiempo que sus orígenes han ido cayendo en el olvido. Las enseñanzas que el ser humano recibió a lo largo de su evolución se han ido diluyendo con el paso del tiempo, el respeto por la naturaleza ha dado paso a la modificación de la misma de forma que las ciudades de ladrillo y hormigón han sustituido a los bosques, y el anhelo del conocimiento ha ido quedando atrás al tiempo que el ser humano se ha ido encerrando en sí mismo, sin ver más allá de sus propios intereses. El sentimiento de comunidad y la búsqueda del bien colectivo han dado paso a un individualismo exacerbado, en el que los intereses de unos pocos dirigen las vidas de toda la sociedad, dando lugar a individuos aislados, solitarios, que inconscientemente perpetúan una sociedad abocada a la extinción tanto de su entorno natural como de sí misma. >>

Así, las alusiones a la condición humana y al abandono de los que en un tiempo pasado fueron sus “dioses” (la naturaleza, el conocimiento, los astros, etc…) se combinan para mostrarnos un futuro hipotético en el que los olvidados “dioses”, creadores simbólicos de la humanidad, regresan a comprobar el uso que de sus enseñanzas hemos hecho y el desventurado final al que nos conduce la senda que ha tomado la humanidad.

Es ésta, por tanto, una ocasión excepcional para disfrutar de la obra de este artista vigués, que nos presenta una selección de ilustraciones y piezas cerámicas en las que se pone de manifiesto su lado más crítico, sin que ello reste delicadeza a esa atmósfera intimista y onírica que envuelve su obra.

La exposición se inaugurará el 22 de Marzo a las 20:30h y se podrá visitar hasta el 26 de Abril en La Electric Gallery (Calle Mexico 51, Vigo) de lunes a viernes en horario de 11:00h a 13:30h y de 17:00 a 20:30h, y sábados en horario de 11:00h a 13:30h.

The work of Peri Helio is marked by respect for nature, geometry, passion for astronomy and a profound critique of the human condition, aspects that are evident throughout his artistic career.
 

In METAMITHOLOGIES, Peri transports us to allegorical worlds enveloped in dream atmospheres in which the loss of humanity of the human being is revealed through a series of metaphors and symbolic elements with which the awareness of society before the progressive deterioration of itself and its natural environment. In the words of the artist himself:

 << In its search for "progress", humanity has been progressively cutting its links with nature, modifying its environment, while its origins have been falling into oblivion. The teachings that the human being received throughout its evolution have been diluted with the passage of time, respect for nature has given way to the modification of it so that the cities of brick and concrete have replaced the forests, and the longing for knowledge has been left behind while the human being has been closing in on himself, without seeing beyond his own interests. The feeling of community and the search for the collective good have given way to an exacerbated individualism, in which the interests of a few direct the lives of the whole society, giving rise to isolated, solitary individuals, who unconsciously perpetuate a society dedicated to the extinction of both its natural environment and itself. >>

Thus, the allusions to the human condition and the abandonment of those who in a past time were their "gods" (nature, knowledge, stars, etc ...) combine to show us a hypothetical future in which the forgotten "gods" ", Symbolic creators of humanity, they return to verify the use that we have made of their teachings and the unfortunate end to which the path taken by humanity leads us.
 

This is, therefore, an exceptional occasion to enjoy the work of this artist from Vigo, who presents us with a selection of illustrations and ceramic pieces in which his most critical side is revealed, without diminishing delicacy to that intimate atmosphere and oneiric that envelops his work.

The exhibition will open on March 22 at 8:30 p.m. and may be visited until April 26 at La Electric Gallery (Calle Mexico 51, Vigo) from Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
